Important Points to Follow when Exercising with Elastic Tubing:

  • Warm-up and Cool-down to help avoid injury and to speed recovery (5 to 10 min. of light activity both before and after you work out).
  • Proper care will extend the useful life of the product:
  1. Keep the tubing away from: sharp objects; abrasive surfaces; extended exposure to direct sunlight; extreme temperatures and ozone.
  2. Do not stretch the tubing more than 3 times its original length.
  • Use Proper Technique:
  1. Maintain secure footing, balance and stability at all times.
  2. Exercise your muscles through their full range of motion.
  3. Avoid locking your elbows and knees in the fully extended position (straightened) - keep them slightly bent.
  4. Maintain good posture: keep your neck and back in their natural alignment.
  5. Exercise both sides of your body equally.
  6. Try to keep your wrists in their natural alignment to avoid undue stress.
  • Breathe naturally - do not hold your breath.  When lifting heavy loads, exhale on exertion and inhale on return.
  • Exercise at the appropriate level for your condition, and progress gradually.

Train on a regular basis, but allow your muscles an appropriate period to rest in order to recover and rebuild.  24 to 48 hours is usually sufficient, but longer periods may be required for more intense workouts involving weights.

PLEASE NOTE THESE SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR ELASTIC TUBING:

Allergy Caution:  Contains natural rubber latex

THE INFORMATION FOUND IN THE PROVIDED EXERCISE PAMPHLET IS MEANT TO SUPPLEMENT, NOT REPLACE, PROPER EXERCISE INSTRUCTION FROM A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL.  SINCE ALL FORMS OF EXERCISE POSE SOME INHERENT RISK, SEEK PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE BECAUSE YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.

WARNING! CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING ANY EXERCISE PROGRAM.  ONLY HE OR SHE CAN DETERMINE THE EXERCISE PROGRAM THAT IS APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR PARTICULAR AGE AND CONDITION.

DO NOT EXERCISE WITH ANY INJURY UNLESS YOU HAVE DIRECT INSTRUCTION TO DO SO BY YOUR DOCTOR.

TO MINIMIZE YOUR CHANCES OF INJURING YOURSELF, YOU MUST FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH THE ENTIRE EXERCISE PAMPHLET BEFORE EXERCISING & ALWAYS FOLLOW THESE RULES:

1.  Always inspect all the components before and after each use.  Check for any signs of damage (i.e., cracks, tears, splits, loose stitching, etc.).  Do not use components in any exercise manoeuvres if any signs of damage are present before, or develop during, use.

2.  Always use a tight fitting sturdy door that opens away from you and always lock it closed when using the doorway mount.  Do not allow anyone to open it from the opposite side while in use!

3.  Never stretch the tubing more than 3 times its original length.

4.  Never release the tubing or elastic assemblies whilst under tension!

5.  Never stretch the elastic components whilst they are aligned with the face or other sensitive parts of the body.

6.  Never attach elastic assemblies to any hook, nail or pipe.

7.  Only use the associated components and assemblies as instructed.

8.  The rotator handles are for hand gripping purposes only.  Do not use them on your feet.

9.  The elastic assemblies are for single individual use only.  Two or more people using the elastic assemblies at the same time may result in injury.

10.  The components and assemblies are not toys.  Please keep them away from children.

11.  "No pain, no gain" is a common exercise motto.  Do not confuse pain with productivity.  A new good workout will normally leave a general feeling of balanced muscular soreness in the muscles.  Joint or imbalanced muscular soreness may be an indication of an injury.

12.  Exercise with care.  Always perform your exercises while balanced and under complete control of your movements -- Never perform jerky or uncoordinated movements as they can cause injury.

13.  Stop exercising and immediately contact your doctor if you feel dizzy, light-headed, or experience any shortness of breath while exercising.

14.  Always warm-up properly and thoroughly before beginning any vigorous exercise session.

15.  Breath naturally while exercising and stretching -- Do not hold your breath.
